Windows Mobile

The ability to sync multiple calendars is critical to those of us that have a work calendar and a family calendar. I NEED to be able to see what is on my personal family calendar without clogging up my work calendar. By having multiple calendar support I have a place (mobile device) where I can view both and the primary calendar (work or home) is still in tact and on those calendar entries that are appropriate to that calendar (work or personal) do not cross over.

There's no doubt that Windows Mobile is powerful and flexible, capable of doing many things, but the user interface elements that we interact with are often sluggish. Even on the most powerful of devices, menus appear slowly, icons are drawn slowly, screen rotation is embarrassingly slow, etc.

Whether it takes hardware acceleration on every device, tighter coding at the OS level, or better video drivers, I want my Windows Mobile device to be as fast and fluid as the iPhone!

When juggling multiple client contacts I don't want to have to listen through voice mails to know who tried to contact me. It is only a problem when no "missed call" notice is generated for calls that are dumped to voice mail when a data connection in engaged. I'd prefer the choice to accept or ignore the call instead of them being dumped and then getting no notice of who's tried to reach me. If I can't get the choice to accepts the call over a data connection then I desperately need a log of ALL calls. My busy days require often that I selectively return calls and wading through voice mails to determine who's called is ineffective.

There should be automatic full screen like newer IE mobile. It is so stupid to waste the small mobile screen on two bars running above and below particularly in landscape. The yop bar is completely unecessary hile the bottom one could be replaced with small water colorbuttons.
Why windows is still unable to provide automatic screen rotation. Why they are stupidly slow to implement good new ideas.

The current keyboard in Windows Mobile 6.5 only includes the characters Q to P (on the first row).

Generally: More characters on the "top level" keyboard.

I would like it to go from Q to } (right bracket). In the danish keyboard this would add support of Æ Ø Å on the top level. Meaning I won't have to spend seconds to find it in a sub-character.

These characters are used a lot! The iPhone have it now after the 3.0 update. Windows Mobile ought to have it too.

I like to have delivery reports to check if an SMS is actually delivered if I don't get a response. Currently, it arrives as text message in my inbox, which is slightly annoying. On my old Nokia, every sent message would have a little icon beside it indicating whether or not the SMS was delivered. Sometimes along those lines would be a big improvement. Or a simpler, easier solution would be to automatically move delivery reports to a separate folder and mark them as read. Right now, I have to delete a delivery report every time I send a text.
